How much does an AI voice agent cost in 2026: how to work out the real price

“From a few cents a minute.” That is the figure you see everywhere. But the price of an AI voice agent is made of several building blocks, and depending on the offer, some are included and others billed separately. Here is how to rebuild the real price, for your own volume, before signing.

The four ways AI voice agents are billed

The monthly plan: a fixed amount that includes a number of calls or minutes, then a per-minute price beyond that. Common for small business phone answering. Watch the number of included concurrent calls, often very low.

Per-minute pricing by block: a platform minute, then voice, transcription, language model and telephony, each billed. That is the developer platform model. The listed price is low; the real price depends on the assembly.

The quote: a setup fee, then a negotiated price per call or per minute. Common with vendors targeting large accounts.

The all-in per-minute price list: one price per minute including voice, model and telephony, decreasing with volume. That is Nodical's model.

What really moves the bill

Telephony: included or not, and to which destinations. A call to a French mobile does not cost the same as a call abroad.

Counting: per second or per started minute, with or without a minimum per call. On short calls, such as voicemail or quick refusals, the gap is significant.

Concurrent calls: included in the price or billed per line per month. For an outbound campaign, it is often the most surprising item.

Setup and adjustments: included, billed separately, or left to your technical team.

How to do the maths for your volume

Start from your list: how many contacts to call each month, how many answered calls, what average length for a useful conversation. You get a volume of spoken minutes.

Ask each provider for an all-in price per spoken minute to a French mobile, telephony included, and what a call reaching voicemail costs. Add the cost of the concurrent calls you need and the setup.

Finally, compare what each offer produces: booked meetings, contacts transferred to your sales rep, calls transcribed in your tool. A cheaper minute that produces nothing costs more than a minute that produces a meeting.

Nodical's prices

Nodical's price list is public and the same for everyone: from €0.29 a minute for the smallest volumes down to €0.12 a minute between 300,000 and 500,000 minutes a month, calls to France included, billed per second with a 20-second minimum per answered call. Unanswered calls cost nothing.

10 to 200 concurrent calls are included depending on the tier. No mandatory plan: without commitment, each minute is paid at its tier's price; with a volume commitment, with no fixed term, you get the tier price from the first minute. Details are on our Pricing page, and the comparison with other providers on our Comparison page.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Is an AI voice agent cheaper than a telemarketer?

It depends on your volume and what you hand over. An agent is only paid for time actually spoken, calls in parallel and works at any hour; a human remains better at complex negotiation. Most companies combine both.

How much does a call reaching voicemail cost?

At Nodical, 20 seconds are billed, the minimum per answered call, about €0.10 at tier 1, and less at higher tiers. An unanswered call costs nothing.

Are there setup fees?

At Nodical, setup is done with you. Add-ons are public: phone number €15 a month, text message €0.10, extra concurrent call €10 a month.
